Ried ROSENBERG Feuersbrunn

An icon in Wagram.
There is hardly a better place for Grüner Veltliner. The heart of Hengstberg. This is where our oldest vines are deeply rooted, planted in 1956. It is also home to our young Grüner Veltliner vines in our mother vineyard (sélection massale). It yields wines with enormous aging potential.

It all began with Rosenberg.
Owned by our family since 1889, we were aware of the potential and strength of the vines here from the very beginning. Rosenberg also provided the grapes for Bernhard’s first official single-vineyard wine. To this day, the wine represents a powerful and long-lasting Grüner Veltliner. The name Rosenberg comes from the wild rose bushes that marked the area as very fertile and valuable agricultural land all the way back in the Middle Ages.

For years we have pursued a clear goal: to produce the best Grüner Veltliner in the world. With the 2021 vintage, we were the first winery in the history of the Wagram to be awarded the highest rating of 100 points from A la Carte and 99 points from Falstaff. At the same time, the 2021 vintage was awarded the title of best Grüner Veltliner — and thus the best in the world — in the Austrian Top 100 by James Suckling. We were able to seamlessly build on this success with the 2023 vintage, once again receiving 100 points from A la Carte.

Ried ROSENBERG
With Rosenberg, everything began. The Grüner Veltliner vines rooted here are the oldest in the estate, and their potential and strength were evident to us from the very beginning. Rosenberg was also the first officially bottled single-vineyard wine of the house – and to this day it stands as a paradigm of a powerful and long-lived Grüner Veltliner style.
