BLAUFRÄNKISCH
MORITZ

The first red wine in the Ott household.

Moritz’s debut with a bright future. Crafted from a Blaufränkisch selection provided by our friend Albert Gesellmann. Inspired by Moritz’s internships abroad, the wine reflects its primary rock soil and cool location.

One vineyard, one barrel.

A Blaufränkisch with finesse, so delicate, elegant, and juicy, the likes of which have never been tasted before in Wagram. With incredible spice and tension on the palate. Serve lightly chilled. Limited edition. Serve slightly cooler. Limited edition.

HARVEST & VINIFICATION

100% hand-picked. 100% destemmed, six days on the skins, aged in a large Stockinger oak cask, moved by gravity only, and bottled unfiltered.

ORIGIN

From Ried Wolfsgruben in Engabrunn, on the southern terraces of the Hengstberg. One of the highest vineyards in the region. The vines are rooted in chernozem over a thick layer of loess.

Inspired by his internships, Moritz Ott vinified his first wine – the first Blaufränkisch ever made at Weingut Ott.
Reinterpreted: uncompromising – independent – pure.

This Blaufränkisch comes from the Wolfgruben vineyard, one of the highest sites in Engabrunn. The cool climate and soils shaped by loess and primary rock are reflected in the wine with elegance and a focused sense of spice. Reinterpreted according to my vision: uncompromising. distinctive. pure.
